BBA Architects, acting on behalf of MG&G, have submitted an outline application to South Gloucestershire Council for the redevelopment of the Lucas Works site in Kingswood.
The planning application seeks the demolition of the existing buildings and the redevelopment of the site for the creation of a new sustainable, mixed-use development including up to 140 energy efficient homes and 1650sqm of commercial space (Use Class E), and the creation of new access into the site. The redevelopment of the Lucas Works will enhance the surrounding area and maximise the potential of the brownfield land in line with emerging and existing local and national policy. This includes consideration of the Council’s vision for the area as set out in the Kingswood Master Plan and emerging Local Plan. The scheme seeks to provide more employment than is currently available on site without competing with Kingswood town centre and includes the creation of a mix of modern family homes and apartments.
BBA look forward to engaging with the local authority on the application to achieve planning permission in the near future.
