Tannery Gardens

BBA designed and delivered this exclusive scheme, initially worked with Blue Cedar Homes, developers who specialise in bespoke age-exclusive properties.

The site is within the Conservation Area, adjacent to Grade II listed properties and close to the Cotswolds. In order to inform the design process our in-house planning team considered planning policy relating to the scheme, including local planning design guidance. We used our architectural skillset to create dwellings which are traditional in character and use traditional materials. Each individual plot was also designed with the ability to be adapted over time.

We obtained favourable pre-app feedback, planning permission and were subsequently appointed as ‘Delivery Architects’ by the main contractor. This role required BBA to discharging planning conditions and provide a full set of working drawings & specification. This included meticulously detailing of the traditional honey-hued Cotswold stone, to ensure an exacting finish. The development also required coordination and collaboration for the landscape, ecology and arboricultural enhancements.

The resultant scheme provides stunning homes for the over 55s, delivering the Blue Cedar Homes’ mantra of ‘live later lifeinstyle’.
